By defining biometrics as a method based on the experimental, instrumental and logical-mathematical argumentation of biological processes, biometrics positions itself as the basic, as well as a multivariate and multidisciplinary method of scientific research in biological and agricultural sciences. By introducing the term “logical-mathematical argumentation” instead of “statistical analysis,” the emphasis is placed on accepting logic as the main theory of reasoning, i.e. on overcoming the incompleteness of conclusions made only on the basis of statistical probability as the only support to inductive reasoning. Acceptance of the term “logical-mathematical reasoning” of research results and a critical approach to such argumentation in biological and agricultural research should create a scientific, i.e. logical response for the adoption of conclusions proving something obvious, for only when something that is seen as obvious is proved can we be sure that we possess knowledge.
